![]() If the end of the spring points in the counter-clockwise direction, it is a right wound spring. If the end of the spring points in the clockwise direction, it is a left wound spring. Look at the end of the spring to determine the wind direction. If you do not know a proper size of the spring, then you must, in turn, have an accurate weight of your garage door. You cannot compensate for the wrong size spring by adjusting the number of winding turns. You must use springs that matched to the weight of the garage door.
